HALLELUJAH

Hoy, 6 de junio se conmemoran las siguientes efemérides:

1944 - World War II: Battle of Normandy begins. D-Day, code named Operation Overlord, commences with the landing of 155,000 Allied troops on the beaches of Normandy in France. The allied soldiers quickly break through the Atlantic Wall and push inland in the largest amphibious military operation in history.

1968 - Robert F. Kennedy is assassinated by Los Angeles Palestinian resident Sirhan B. Sirhan after giving a speech at the Ambassador Hotel.

1982 - 1982 Lebanon War begins: Forces under Israeli Defense Minister Ariel Sharon invade southern Lebanon in their "Operation Peace for the Galilee," eventually reaching as far north as the capital Beirut.

Nuestro asesor lleva todo el día cantando esta canción de Jeff Buckley, no sé por qué. Quizá lo de ETA, lo del Líbano, no sé. Y me la ha acabado pegando.

HALLELUJAH
(Leonard Cohen)

Well I heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do ya?
Well it goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

HallelujahHallelujahHallelujahHallelujah

Well Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
she tied you to her kitchen chair
She broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

HallelujahHallelujahHallelujahHallelujah

Well baby I've been here before
I’ve seen this room and I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew ya
I've seen your flag on the marble arch
Love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

HallelujahHallelujahHallelujahHallelujah

Well there was a time when you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show that to me do you?
And remember when I moved in you?
And the holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah

HallelujahHallelujahHallelujahHallelujah

Well maybe there's a God above
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who'd OUT DREW YA
And it's not a cry that you hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken
Hallelujah

Los fans de "House" reconocerán la canción, porque la ponen mucho en la serie. De hecho, creo que se está usando en demasía, pero merece la pena escucharla una vez más.
